This Sunday I will be having my third stall at the Young Designers Market at Southbank in Brisbane. Originally a quarterly market from this month onwards the YDM will be monthly. The Young Designers Market features some of the best of Brisbane’s up and coming designers and artists selling a range of fashion and accessories, jewellery, homewares, object design furniture and arts. One thing I love about the Young Designers Market is that all product must have been designed and created by the stallholder.The Young Designers Market is held at Southbank at the heart of Brisbane. On the banks of the Brisbane river, the Southbank parklands were originally developed up as the site for World Expo '88. The one thing that struck me about the parklands, the first time I came to Brisbane (before I moved here from the UK) was the beach! A beach in the middle of the city centre, sand and all!
Back to the YDM - if anyone in the local area is interested in paying a visit - and I can well recommend it - the trading hours are 10.am to 4.00pm.
